The basic goal of the network is to establish a common cultural space – the network of Baltic and Nordic organizations operating in the area of audio visual art – that would be accessible and rich in content.

The network will give artists, institutions and art professionals access to the information exchange resources (newly launched website, monthly newsletter) as well as new platform for cultural exchange and discussions on subjects concerning continuous progression of contemporary art languages, collaboration scenarios and expanding of territorial borders.

kim?

kim? is a pilot project of the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art. kim? offers a wide range of changing contemporary art activities in order to educate society about contemporary arts processes and t foster a discourse and interest in contemporary art.

kim? has its home in the Spīķeri distric near the Riga city centre. The district hosts not only kim? and its activities but also many other arts and creative sphere related organizations.

Noass Video Art Archive

The Latvian Video Art Archive has been created as the only national video art database. It is available for free and covers the entire history of Latvian video art from the late 1980’s through to the present day. The platform for the Latvian Video Art Archive – Database is the videoteque which has been established and built up over a number of years by “Culture and Arts Project NOASS”.

The New Theatre Institute

The New Theatre Institute of Latvia is an actively transparent organization whose mandate is to develop and encourage the multi-faceted forms of theatre art—especially new theatre, dance, performance, and circus craft—both locally and internationally.Since 1995 the NTIL organises bi-annual International Festival of Contemporary Theatre “Homo Novus”. The Open-Air Art Museum at Pedvāle was opened by sculptor Ojārs Arvīds Feldbergs in 1991 and is now a State Historical Monument. It is an ideal place in which creative professionals, — sculptors, painters, printmakers, installation and performance artists — are free to express themselves. The permanent collection of the Museum includes more than 150 works of art that have been created during symposium, workshops and pleinairs. It also includes an exhibition of the works by Oārs Feldbergs and temporary exhibits by local and foreign artists.

Naive art museum of Latvia

The Naive Art Museum of Latvia has defined its operating goal as being the collection of works of naïve art, as well as their preservation, study and promotion. The Museum’s task is to preserve the cultural and historical heritage of naïve art for future generations and to use it to educate the general public. The Museum devotes particular attention to the identification and preservation of works by contemporary Latvian naïve artists including painters and sculptors and the establishment of core exposition of works at the Museum.
