Technical Innovation House Annas 2

Technical Innovation House (Theniskās jaunrades Nams) is a place in Riga where children and youth aged 6 to 25 years can spend their free time in technological, scientific and artistic orientations clubs, studios and workshops that develop the practical skills and at the same time can help to choose a possible future profession.

TJN organizes different events, such as festivals and competitions to children.

Riga Film Museum

The compact and cosy Riga Film Museum houses a labyrinthine exposition space, a miniature film theater room used for regular film screenings, and a cinematheque offering a plethora of significant Latvian and foreign films. Instead of a permanent exhibition the museum periodically curates unique shows – the current exhibit traces the childhood and dramatic later life and work of the Riga-born cinematic genius, world-acclaimed Russian film director and theoretician Sergei Eisenstein.

International Short Film Festival 2ANNAS

2ANNAS is an international film festival, which offers films made by young professional filmmakers, winners of international festivals, students and graduates of film schools from all over the world.

Every May, 2ANNAS offers a range of short film collections – features, animation, music videos, and documentaries – in its original competition and special programs, which are screened in Riga’s cinemas and other venues. The festival hosts lectures and photo exhibitions, as well as theater and music performances, “out-of-box events”, and other activities within the rich city environment and the vibrant multi-talented 2ANNAS atmosphere.

The only short film festival in Latvia is organized by a film studio “URGA”.

kim?

kim? is a pilot project of the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art. kim? offers a wide range of changing contemporary art activities in order to educate society about contemporary arts processes and t foster a discourse and interest in contemporary art.

kim? has its home in the Spīķeri distric near the Riga city centre. The district hosts not only kim? and its activities but also many other arts and creative sphere related organizations.

The New Theatre Institute

The New Theatre Institute of Latvia is an actively transparent organization whose mandate is to develop and encourage the multi-faceted forms of theatre art—especially new theatre, dance, performance, and circus craft—both locally and internationally.Since 1995 the NTIL organises bi-annual International Festival of Contemporary Theatre “Homo Novus”. The Naive Art Museum of Latvia has defined its operating goal as being the collection of works of naïve art, as well as their preservation, study and promotion.
